Elton John canceled four concerts this weekend in Las Vegas after being hospitalized for a respiratory infection. According to TMZ, John will rest for at least a week before attempting to perform again. Elton checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday, where he underwent a series of medical tests. Doctors advised him not to sing for a week and suggested he get “complete rest and antibiotic treatment to prevent damage.” John, who has been released from the hospital, told TMZ, “It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at the Colosseum … I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return to the Colosseum in October to complete the 11 concerts. All I can say to the fans is, ‘Sorry I can’t be with you.’”
