Jewel is set to follow in Reese Witherspoon’s footsteps by portraying country music legend June Carter in a new TV movie. Witherspoon walked away with an Oscar for her portrayal of Johnny Cash’s second wife in 2005’s “Walk the Line” biopic and now Jewel will get her chance to take on the role in “The June Carter Cash Story” for Lifetime. “American Horror Story” actor Matt Ross will play Cash in the movie, which will chronicle the couple’s tumultuous relationship as well as her rise to fame. The project will be based on John Carter Cash’s memoir “Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash.”
