U.K. boy band One Direction has inked a deal with HarperCollins to publish a biographical book with exclusive interviews, memories and behind-the-scenes details.
“Dare to Dream: Life as One Direction” is already available in Europe and goes on sale in the U.S. on May 22. An untitled follow-up, which promises to chronicle the story of One Direction, straight from the boys themselves, is due in September of next year.
“We’re incredibly excited to be releasing ‘Dare to Dream’ in the U.S.,” the band announced in a statement. “We’re really proud of the book — we worked really hard to make it as personal as we could.”
One Direction made chart history when its first album, “Up All Night,” entered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The March release made the band the first U.K. group to top the chart with a debut. The album’s lead single, “What Makes You Beautiful” debuted on the Hot 100 at No. 28.
The band’s first-ever U.S. headlining tour kicks off on May 24, two days after the book is released, in Fairfax, Va.
