The movie is set to be released by Paramount Pictures’ low-budget distributer, Insurge.
Magical Elves, the production group behind Justin Bieber’s 3D movie Never Say Never, are in talks to direct the movie, which will show Perry’s life on and off stage, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Craig Brewer, who directed the studio’s Footloose re-boot, has signed up to be an executive producer on the film.
Meanwhile, Katy Perry has recently come under attack from celebrated feminist author Naomi Wolf, who described the video for Perry’s new single, ‘Part of Me’, as “propaganda for marines”.
